Button vaporization of the prostate

Bipolar cautery vaporization, or button TURP, is a newer, less invasive variation of the procedure. Instead of a wire loop or laser on the end of the scope, it uses a small, button-shaped device to vaporize prostate tissue. Button TURP uses low-temperature plasma energy, instead of heat, to remove prostate tissue.


Cystoscopy is endoscopy of the urinary bladder via the urethra. It is carried out with a cystoscope. The urethra is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. The cystoscope has lenses like a telescope or microscope.

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is a non-invasive treatment of kidney stones and biliary calculi using an acoustic pulse. It is also reported to be used for salivary stones and pancreatic stones.

InterStim Therapy

InterStim Therapy for Urinary Control is indicated for the treatment of urinary retention and the symptoms of overactive bladder, including urinary urge incontinence and significant symptoms of urgency-frequency alone or in combination, in patients who have failed or could not tolerate more conservative treatments.

Prostate biopsy

Prostate biopsy is a procedure in which small hollow needle-core samples are removed from a man's prostate gland to be examined microscopically for the presence of cancer.

Posterior tibial nerve stimulation

Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS), also referred to as posterior tibial nerve stimulation, is the least invasive form of neuromodulation used to treat overactive bladder (OAB) and the associated symptoms of urinary urgency, urinary frequency and urge incontinence.

Sacral nerve stimulation

Sacral Neuromodulation (SNM) (also known as Sacral Nerve Stimulation) is a therapy that may be able to help certain people who experience bladder and bowel problems.  Where successful, the treatment can be a life changing therapy. As with all treatments, it is not suitable for everyone and your doctor or specialist healthcare professional will be able to discuss its potential suitability for you, or those you care for.


Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. It is used to help diagnose the causes of pain, swelling and infection in the body’s internal organs. It’s also used to help guide biopsies. Ultrasound is safe, noninvasive, and does not use ionizing radiation.


The lower urinary tract includes the bladder and urethra. Urodynamic testing is any procedure that looks at how well the bladder, sphincters, and urethra are storing and releasing urine. Most urodynamic tests focus on the bladder's ability to hold urine and empty steadily and completely.


A vasectomy is performed in the practice by Dr. Simon, In some cases, Dr. Simon may decide to do a vasectomy in an outpatient surgery center or a hospital. This could be because of patient anxiety or because other procedures will be done at the same time.
